De Minaur Visit

We were thrilled to be visited by superstar Alex De Minaur recently at an ASICS event hosted by our club. By agreement we had to keep the visit under wraps, with a small number of invited guests – our junior players. What a treat!

Introducing… our brand-new synthetic grass courts!

While we endured the toughness of lockdown, we decided we needed to give the Princes Hill Tennis Club family something to look forward to on returning to the courts.

And here they are… Our brand-new synthetic grass courts!! They are a mix of a beautiful red and green colour. They are soft on the knees, while still playing at a speed that will get you moving. We’ve also updated our nets and net poles to ensure all members get the highest quality tennis court. Enjoy!

New Hardcourts!

Our hardcourts were resurfaced over the school holidays as the first stage of our court refurbishment process. They are now a beautiful two-tone green, chosen to be sympathetic to our surrounds. We have new nets, new net posts, and the courts are beautiful to play on. We even arranged for the Council to trim the trees around the lights for full after-dark illumination.

The courts are available for booking now.

Champions!

It was a great season for PHTC in the popular NSNTA competition, which gives members the chance to catch up with teammates and test skills against well-matched opponents. Our mixed doubles team and two of the men’s teams made the finals of the spring season, and the icing on the cake was a victory for our men’s B Grade side, who defeated Oak Park in the final. The autumn season begins the first week of February, see more details about the competition and how to join, contact our Competition Co-Ordinator Sandy Hopper on 0417 177 767‬ or sandyhopper7@gmail.com.

Princes Hill Tennis Club is launching a new, commitment-free tennis program for adults, no experience necessary.

Open Court Sessions is a new Monday night social event that is open to everyone, celebrating tennis through fresh, new game formats in an accommodating and commitment free environment.

The 90 minute session will have you enjoying casual tennis in a relaxed format. The evening is made up of two parts; 30 minutes off-court with food and drinks, and 60 minutes on-court time for swinging, slamming and smiling, with a great soundtrack pumping through the evening.

Open Court Sessions is for anyone who has ever thought ‘I love tennis, I used to play’ or ‘I want to play tennis again, I just don’t have anyone to play with’. It’s a solution that allows for all styles of play. For every level, for every age, for every person. If you’re an ex-tennis player keen to pick up a racquet again, Open Court Sessions provides a fun option to get back into the sport where the social side is just as important as the on court activities. And if you don’t have gear or equipment, no worries. We’ll provide racquets and balls, and the first Open Court Sessions event will include spot prizes for players who are getting sporty and social.

Open Court Sessions will be running every week on Mondays in February and March at Princes Hill Tennis Club. So book now! It’s time to get your racquet on. Make a racket, have some fun – it’s tennis time.

Week 1: Monday, 3 February. Then every Monday to 23 March.
Time: 7.00-8.30
Cost: $20/session
