Premiers!

Congratulations to our C Grade 3 Unisex team who on Saturday registered a crushing 5 sets to 1 victory over Moomba Park to bring the Premiership back to Princes Park. George, Florian, Prithvi and Asha were too good in an occasionally feisty encounter, and it was their determination and relentless pressure as much as their sublime tennis skills that got PHTC over the line. Congratulations George, Florian, Prithvi, Asha, who played on the day, and Xavier, Jude, Luca and Anika who contributed vital wins throughout the season.  A very proud day for PHTC.

Renewals Now Open

PHTC Members! You can now renew your membership for 2016 at the same low membership rate as 2015.

This year you will be able to renew and pay online with your credit card in what should be a reasonably painless process. You are also still able to pay by direct bank transfer, though this means your renewal won’t immediately be active. We are no longer accepting cheque or cash payments, but if you are unable to pay by credit card or bank transfer, please contact the club and let us know and we’ll work something out.

Here is a handy guide to the renewal process that it is worth keeping handy. Just click Join in the menu bar or click here to start. And, as always, email us at the Club address if you have any questions or problems. We are here to help.

And a reminder: your 2015 membership will stop working at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, so renew now to avoid any delay in getting on the courts in 2016.

Opening Up Tennis Launch

Recently, PHTC played host to the launch of Tennis Victoria’s Opening Up Tennis program. This is the pilot program that has helped us to upgrade our booking system to the automated gate.

PHTC welcomed the State Minister for Sport John Eren, 22-time Grand Slam Champion Todd Woodbridge, and CEO of Tennis Victoria Matthew Kennedy. Speeches were made, sandwiches were eaten, and Opening Up Tennis was launched.

Many thanks to PHTC members Audrey Lile, Alesia Shaw, Ray Shaw, and Vin Morgan, as well as Coach Calan McCarthy for coming out to play on a very hot afternoon to help us populate the courts.

You can read more about the launch and the program on the Tennis Victoria website.
